You know you’re stressed.
Maybe you’ve been calling it anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, low mood, stress, or simply “not feeling like myself.”
Maybe you’re still functioning, still caring, still leading, still creating, still showing up.
But your body may be telling a deeper story.
Prolonged stress does not only affect your thoughts. It can shape your physiology, nervous system, emotions, relationships, capacity to rest, sense of meaning and connection to life.
What you have called resilience may actually be survival strength: the part of you that learned to brace, scan, carry, push through, over-function, shut down or disconnect so you could keep going.
That survival strength is wise.
But it was never meant to become your permanent way of living.
This 4-minute quiz helps you understand:
✓ The toll prolonged stress may be taking across your physical, mental, emotional, relational and spiritual health.
✓ Whether your nervous system appears to be showing mild, moderate or severe dysregulation.
✓ Why you may feel exhausted, anxious, reactive, numb or unable to switch off, even when life “should” be fine.
✓ How survival strength may have been protecting you, and what it may now be costing your energy, truth, joy and aliveness.
✓ Whether your next step is recovery and regulation first, or beginning to move from endurance into true resilience.
This is not a diagnosis.
It is a mirror: a way to understand what your system has been carrying, why it makes sense, and what kind of support may serve you now.
You’ll be scored on the following key areas:
Physical
Reveals how your body reflects states of stress or calm
Mental
Highlights how regulation affects your thoughts and clarity
Emotional
Shows how your nervous system handles emotional intensity
Spiritual
Assesses how stress impacts your sense of higher purpose and trust
Relational
Uncovers how your system responds in connection with others

About the creator
Dr Rola Hallam MBBS BSc FRCA
I am an Award-winning physician, trauma-informed therapeutic coach, International speaker, and social entrepreneur.
For over 26 years, I have worked at the intersection of medicine, trauma, crisis and human resilience.
I trained as an anaesthetist in the NHS, helped build seven hospitals in Syria during the war, and have supported healthcare professionals, humanitarians, activists and purpose-led leaders navigating burnout, trauma, moral injury and the cost of carrying too much. My online talks have been viewed more than 11 million times, and I was honoured to become the first Syrian TED Fellow.
But I don’t only know this work professionally.
For years, I was the strong one. The capable one. The one who could hold crisis, lead under pressure, care deeply and keep going.
I looked resilient. I was “Fortress Rola.”
But much of what the world praised as resilience was actually survival strength, and I found out the hard way through burnout, PTSD and chronic health issues.
This assessment brings together medical knowledge, nervous system science, trauma-informed coaching, somatic practice and lived experience to help you understand what your system may be carrying, and what kind of support may serve you next.
